IEEE Seminar on "Control of Networked Multi-robot System"

IEEE Seminar on "Control of Networked Multi-robot System"

IEEE UU Student Branch in collaboration with “Robotics Club EEE and CSE” successfully organized a seminar on "Control of Networked Multi-robot System" on 18th November 2019, at the Conference room of Uttara University. This seminar is started at 3:30 p.m. with a welcome speech by Dr. Shakowat Zaman Sarker, Associate Professor and Chairman, Department Of EEE. Following that, Prof. Dr. Mijanur Rahaman, Professor and Chairman, Department of CSE, gave his speech on importance of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and importance of this kinds of seminar.

The seminar was conducted by Keynote Speaker, Dr. Lamia Iftekhar, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, North South University and, Resource Person – IEEE Women In Engineering Affinity Group, Bangladesh Section.

The seminar mainly focused on Robotics Applications and Researches in Bangladesh and abroad. Multirobot systems denote a setup of two or more robots where the robots usually work together towards a common objective. The objective can be achieved better by a multi-robot system in comparison to a single robot system in terms of cost, speed, robustness, efficiency and more. The robots may communicate among themselves, creating a network, and such a set-up will give rise to challenges distinct to single robot scenarios.

After the lecture session an Q&A session and a quiz competition was organized at 4:00 p.m. Different types of robotics kit, modules are distributed as the token of gift among nine participants who’s got higher marks in that quiz competition.

At last, Md. Kamruzzaman, Branch Counselor and Assistant Professor & Coordinator EEE, shared his opinion on the seminar and upcoming events & plans of IEEE UU Student Branch.

Finally, program chair Prof. Dr. Kazi Khairul Islam, Dean, School of Science and Engineering, gave his valuable speech and thanked the guest, host of the event and all the participants for attending the seminar and called off the seminar at 4:30 p.m. The program was ended with distributing evening snacks and the hope of succession in robotics research and collaboration.
