Day-1 Workshop on “VLSI and Embedded System Design”

The first day of the workshop on “VLSI and Embedded System Design” organized by the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Uttara University on 25th October, 2017 at the Simulation Lab, Dept. of EEE, Uttara University.

Mohammed Abdul Kader, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh (IIUC) conducted Day-1, 1st session on FPGA, Verilog HDL, Schematic design in FPGA, Structural Verilog coding, RTL Verilog coding, Implementation of combinational circuits (Decoder, Multiplexer, Adder, and Code Converter circuit etc.) in FPGA by RTL Verilog coding. And the second session covers the implementation of sequential circuits (Flip-Flops, Up-Counter, Down-Counter, Up/down counter, different types of Shift registers, RAM etc.) in FPGA by RTL Verilog coding.

Professor Dr. Kazi Khairul Islam, Dean, School of Science and Engineering, Dr. Md. Shakowat Zaman Sarker, Associate Professor & Chairman(EEE) presented in the workshop. Fourteen faculties and two Lab-Assistants of EEE dept. ware attended in that workshop.

Day-2 The second day of the workshop on “VLSI and Embedded System Design” organized by the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Uttara University on 26th October, 2017 at the Simulation Lab, Dept. of EEE, Uttara University.

The 3rd session(Day-2) on “Design of a display driver for multiple 7-segment display” was conducted by Mohammed Abdul Kader, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh (IIUC)

Dr. Mijanur Rahaman, Associate Professor, Department of CSE, Uttara University, presented a specialized talk on “VLSI- A big leap toward non-von Neumann Computation” at 4th session arranged at Seminar Room, UU.

Finally, a closing ceremony was held as 5th session at Seminar Room, UU. Professor Dr. Kazi Khairul Islam, Dean, School of Science and Engineering, Dr. Md. Shakowat Zaman Sarker, Associate Professor & Chairman(EEE), keynote speakers and all full-time faculties and nine Lab-Assistants of EEE dept. attended in Closing Ceremony.
